The Supreme Committee of the 1st International Conference of the Architectural Heritage in Islamic countries to be held under the patronage of The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz (May Allah preserve him) held its 3rd meeting chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of the SCTA. The meeting was held in the Antiquities sector at the Commission’s headquarters in Riyadh.
The meeting had discussed the accomplishments of the preparatory stages of the Conference. The conference will include a series of workshops and scientific sessions, and review the current status of the Architectural Heritage in Islamic countries, discuss appropriate means to activate and social and economic side as well as a number of successful international experiences to develop the architectural heritage and convert it to source of economic resources.
The conference will be held, accompanied by various exhibitions on architectural heritage, which is expected to be attended by a number of Islamic countries, the Architectural Heritage authorities concerned and traditional craftsmen. In addition to the participation of a number of companies to provide new technologies and solutions for construction and repairs for old buildings.
At the end of the meeting His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of SCTA, signed a number of cooperation agreements with several public authorities as part of a package of agreements concluded with the Commission for the companies taking part in the event for the purpose of forming the main work team. Also to make the different participant adhere to their respective roles in the system at the conference to achieve its national goals.
